London’s inaugural “Jewelry Week” running from June 11-15th will serve to showcase new and existing jewelry designers.

A key feature of the week is a platinum and diamond encrusted handbag designed by Japan’s Ginza Tanaka, first unveiled in 2007.

The bag, which will apparently be on sale has been set with more than 2100 diamonds. The diamond shoulder strap can be detached and worn as a necklace, and the 8 carat pear shaped diamond centerpiece can be removed and worn as a brooch.

It’s nice to know that paying $2 million for this bag means you also get a necklace and a brooch.

Guerlain, a very high end French makeup company has a line of lipsticks called “KissKiss Gold and Diamonds”.

Available in 15 customizable shades, the lipstick case comes with a black lacquered case, as well as a lip brush and a black suede pouch.

The actual case for the lipstick, is made from 110 grams of 18 carat gold, and 199 diamonds. You can have your name or a message engraved on the case.

London based company, Meng Duo Ltd, has launched what it claims is the world’s most expensive mp3 player.

Named the ‘D.J. Presidential’ the $44,000 player which is decorated with diamonds comes with a VIP membership and a promise that it will be hand delivered to each purchaser no matter where you are in the world.

Jade Jagger (yes Mick’s daughter) who is a jewelry designer was commissioned by Belvedere Vodka to create an ice pick.

The ice pick has an 18-carat white gold hilt studded with 13 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds and 42 pieces of pale sapphire, inlaid with a blue lapis lazuli above the blade. The handle is bound with a twisted thread of white gold and crowned with a giant moonstone and lapis lazuli bead.

The “Jagger Dagger” will be sold at high-end retailers, including Harrods.

I still think it is really cool that I can get ice out of the door of my fridge…

French jewelery design house Van Cleef and Arpels has been creating spectacular pieces since 1896.

Apparently Mariah Carey wears only their designs, and the 4-pound pearl, ruby, diamond and emerald crown that the former Empress Farah Pahlavi of Iran wore in her 1967 coronation took Pierre Arpels six months to make.

Their website is one of the most visually stunning I have ever seen and I can’t look at it very often because every time I do my keyboard ends up soaked as I drool…

Swiss phone makers Goldvish Luxury Communications have a mobile phone called the Illusion.
