To buy a piece of Titanic history for $68K…

A month ago, Christie’s Auction House sold an unused life jacket from the famous Titanic ship for $68,500.

The cork filled preserver is believed to be only one of six left and was recovered from the Halifax shoreline after the ship sank.

I don’t know which thought is more disturbing… that someone shelled out close to $70K for this “memorabilia” or the fact that the life jacket was unused (and 1500 people drowned in that tragedy).

I wonder how many times the person who bought this has seen the movie???

To have time to keep your blog updated…

This one’s personal peeps…

A little less than a month ago I gave birth to my second baby (and second boy)   :)

The last several weeks have been a blur of midnight (and 2am and 5am and whenever am feedings)… I feel like I have peanut butter slathered on my eyelids half the time cuz I can’t seem to open my eyes…

Anyways as I am a new mom with a newborn and a 2 year old, I feel I have a fairly legit excuse for not keeping my blog updated.

And so gentle reader, I am going to make a concentrated effort to post more often.

When I have the time, if I can ever get the time.

Ahhh to have more time.

To get this dog collar for your pooch…

Pretty common knowledge that people will go to great lengths to spoil their ‘fur kids’. They dress them up, throw birthday parties for them, take them on exotic location etc…

But I am guessing you have to be very rich and very much in love with your dog to shell out $1.8 million for the Amour Amour dog collar. After all it has over a hundred carats of diamonds and rare jewels including a 7 carat brilliant cut diamond in the middle!

And let’s hope that Fido realizes how good he has it and doesn’t ever bite the hand that feeds him!

To use this to hold up your pants…

Swedish designer, Roland Iten has created a belt buckle which follows the same assembly process as a Geneva watch.

This assembly process can take anywhere between 9 to 18 months and is what accounts for the $18,000 USD price tag- oh, and fact that it is completely made of platinum.

And, good to know that you can get matching cufflinks too!

To have your boyfriend land his helicopter in your backyard…

Flying Officer William Wales, known better as Prince William landed his helicopter in the backyard of girlfriend Kate Middleton’s parent’s house.

Apparently receiving a lot of flack for this apparent inappropriate landing, Prince William was defended by the Defence Ministry who said “he achieved essential training objectives”, and that “the two-hour training mission was fully authorized as part of William’s four-month RAF attachment”.

We’re all dying to know if Kate will be Queen one day!
