The brilliant marketing brains at Burger King are unveiling “the world’s most expensive cheeseburger” at select U.S. locations next month.
Called the “Wagyu” burger, the patty will be of beef from the same stock as Kobe beef (but will not be imported from Japan).
Topped with foie gras and blue cheese (instead of your run of the mill ketchup and processed cheddar slices) the “Wagyu” will cost a whopping (see how I did that- Whopper/whopping
) $170!
And I am just thinking that if I am going to drop $170 on a meal, would I really do it at BK??

The Grand Palais Chateau 180 Stove from La Cornue features an all-copper body and trim.
With one gas oven with an electric broiler, one electric oven with an electric broiler, two gas burners, a plaque, one power burner for quicker cooking, a barbecue and two electric plates you can pretty much be assured that warming up your leftover pizza will be a breeze…
Oh, the price? $54, 800!

For those not satisfied with taking an old blanket to the park, there is Dunhill’s Leather Picnic Set which retails for $1385.
The bag made of buffalo (what!) leather features four sets of plates, cups, cutlery and white cotton napkins, with plenty of room for food.
On the reverse side of the blanket is a full Twister board and inflatable dice so you can burn off those calories after lunch.
Does playing Twister on a board that costs the equivalent of (for me) one month’s rent feel any different??

London based company, Meng Duo Ltd, has launched what it claims is the world’s most expensive mp3 player.
Named the ‘D.J. Presidential’ the $44,000 player which is decorated with diamonds comes with a VIP membership and a promise that it will be hand delivered to each purchaser no matter where you are in the world.

Nearly a month ago, Christie’s (auction house) had a massive jewelery auction. They sold $50 Million worth of jewelery that day with 10 pieces going for more than $1 Million each.
One diamond, an extremely rare cushion-cut 39.34 carats sold for for $6,873,000 ($175,000 per carat) to a private collector from the Middle East.
But that ‘bauble’ is nothing compared to last year’s 84-carat white diamond that went for $16.2 million to Guess! Jeans founder George Marciano, who named it the “Chloe Diamond” after his 12-year-old daughter.
Um, I can’t even fathom what it must be like to be 12 and to have a $16.2 million diamond.
And what pressure that will be for whoever decides he wants to marry her…
